The Perfection of Imperfections

The boss of the person responsible for this paint job probably saw the drips a little differently than I did.  His lens most likely told him it was a lousy job and people passing by (it's in a public tunnel) would not like it and complain.

I, on the other hand, stopped to enjoy the texture, the line and the color.  And liked it so much I took a picture of it and posted it on Flickr for others to maybe enjoy.

Painters can't go around doing a poor job on purpose--in general the world does need more clean walls than not.  But as artists, it's the imperfections that lead to inspiration, discovery and even art itself.  Maybe because imperfections are often so fleeting.  Most people's days are filled with either trying to create perfection, or to cover up imperfections before they get discovered.  Who knows, maybe this wall has by now been re-painted "correctly."

So catch it while you can.
